About Grace Academy Darlaston

Welcome to Grace Academy, where our vision is to develop well educated, considerate and caring citizens with a strong sense of values who will succeed in, and contribute to modern society. With academies situated in Darlaston, Coventry and Solihull, the Grace Family is built on a Christian ethos embodied in our core values of: Grace, Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Potential.

Sponsored by the Grace Foundation, a charity founded by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Lord Edmiston, our mantra of ‘developing tomorrow’s leaders’ is based on the belief that every young person should achieve their personal best and so enable them to contribute to the local, national and international community.

At Grace Academy Darlaston, we believe that excellent teaching and support, fantastic facilities and outstanding enrichment activities combine to give our students the best possible preparation for their adult life. Working closely with our primary partners we develop relationships with our prospective students before they attend regularly including numerous transition events and activities which enable them to make friends, look forward to joining us and settle in quickly when they do.

Our careers and enterprise programme includes inspirational workshops, bespoke advice and guidance, visits to universities and work placements with local employers. Students interact with our many local and national business partners.

As well as a strong emphasis on academic and examination achievement, an extensive choice of extra-curricular lessons, enrichment activities and clubs give students the chance to explore their creativity or acquire a qualification that will impress future employers. These range from girls’ and boys’ football and rugby, trampolining, basketball and dance workshops to our Voice Squad choir and Duke of Edinburgh challenges.

An increasing number of students continue their learning journey in our vibrant Post 16 department which also attracts young people from the wider community. Identified by their smart business dress, students work in a dedicated annex of the academy incorporating silent study areas, computer suite and social spaces and can study exciting A-level subjects, specialised vocational courses or a combination of the two. Our aim is to provide students with the tools they need to progress successfully to university, further training or high quality employment.
