Drama department Aims

To create ambitious young people who care about each other and the world; who can use drama to communicate ideas and feelings and resolve problems; and who have the confidence to achieve their potential.

What students learn in years 7-8

  • To develop co-operation and collaboration skills
  • To know and be able to apply key performance skills
  • To develop empathy for different people in different situations
  • To know different genres of theatre (Physical Theatre, T.I.E, Naturalistic Drama, Greek Drama, Musical Theatre, Political Theatre)
  • To know and be able to apply key processes involved in creating drama
  • To know and be able to apply key drama techniques to devise original drama in different styles
  • Developing written evaluation skills
